Whats Your Favorite Cooking System and Why?

  1. Don't know if there is a ultimate cooking system. I look at two things when buying a new stove. 1. What is the weight of the stove and 2. How many liters of water will the stove boil with a 100 grams of fuel. Other decisions that may come into play is if you need a stove to do more than simply boil water. For me boiling water for oatmeal, mountain house or coffee is all I need. With that said its still hard to beat a jet boil if you look at the stats. A jetboil weight is 14-15 ounces, it will boil 13 liters of water with a 100 gram fuel cannister.
Nothing on todays market will beat that.

  2. I have to agree with the JetBoil being one of the best systems on the market. It gets you good bang for your buck. You can do a complete 6-8 Day backcountry hunt on one large fuel cannister. It is reliable, packable and has more than one use. At or below $100.00 its a must have.
